Oliver Earl is a postgraduate student lecturer of Computer Science and IT in the Post-Compulsory and Further Education sector, bringing together multiple years of Higher Education classroom experience, a wealth of knowledge from well-recognised volunteerism in student welfare and support, and concrete industrial insight within both software engineering and IT.
Oliver continues to dedicate time to open source projects as a full-stack developer, specialising predominently in PHP and Laravel, with working knowledge of web frameworks and technologies such as WordPress, Vue.js, Gatsby, and the increasingly popular JAMstack workflow.
Previous academic research topics have been focused around the use of Internet of Things (IoT) services within dementia care applications, with a desire to venture into the pedagogical theories and best practices for teaching programming.
Miscellaneous interests include participating in the CodeCareer.io developer community, writing about a range of technical and pedagogical topics on Hashnode platform, as well as volunteering in a range of mental health activism and peer support work.
